Our chef de cuisine and his staff combine the robust originality of traditional Baden cuisine with the inspirations of world cuisine and conjure up total culinary works of art. What are the most important ingredients in our recipe for success? Best quality and sustainability! The foodstuffs for Saigerhöh cuisine preferably come from local, regional production, and – whether fish, meat or plant-based food – always meet high standards.

In the Black Forest Hotel Saigerhöh we celebrate diverse, generous, healthy gastronomy in a class of its own. We also have excellent dishes on offer for vegetarians, vegans and allergy sufferers. We will also gladly help you in the selection of beverages and recommend excellent wines from wine-growing estates in the Baden region and other important wine regions.

The “Naturpark-Wirte” (“Nature Park Hosts”) are an association of proprietors and hoteliers in the Southern Black Forest Nature Park. By using regional products they not only refer to the specific characteristic of the region, but also specifically support farmers in the Southern Black Forest. On the one hand, these farmers ensure the production of valuable and healthy foodstuffs from the region, and on the other hand they preserve the varying diversity and uniqueness of the landscape with their cultivation of farming areas.
Since January 2015, Hotel Saigerhöh has been a certified “Naturparkwirt” (“Nature Park Host”) and therefore offers at least three regional dishes and one regional menu throughout the year. “Regional” means that the main ingredients stem from the nature park. The cooperation between producers, restaurateurs and ultimately the guests offers advantages to all: the income of farmers is secured, the transport routes of products are short and the quality of products is high!

Schmeck den Süden

Since July 2014, Hotel Saigerhöh has been one of about 250 “Schmeck den Süden” (“Taste the South”) catering establishments in Baden-Württemberg and is certified with 2 “Löwen” (“Lions”).
With this classification system, one “Lion” stands for a regional offer of at least three dishes or at least ten percent of the offer on the menu, whereas two “Lions” stands for at least six dishes or at least one third of the offer. Businesses with the distinction “Three Lions” must come up with an offer that is prepared with at least 90 percent consisting of local products.
The seal of quality, awarded and annually controlled by the Baden-Württemberg chapter of the German Hotel and Restaurant Association (DEHOGA) and the state marketing corporation known as Marketinggesellschaft Baden-Württemberg mbH, ensures guests of the regional origin of products, whereby genuine regional cuisine also signifies fresh, seasonal and creative culinary art.
